The wild pheasant’s-eye

 Lure of Spring Is calling;

The early flowering bud

 Delights in love,

 and renders forgiveness possible,

There’s no time like Spring.

When life’s alive in everything,

Before new nestlings sing,

And the promise

of their strong wings soar,

Growing with heart

There is no time like Spring.

Frost-locked winter is thawed;

Drips the soaking rain,

Seeds, roots, and stones of fruits,

Young grass springs on the plain,

and life is truest;

There’s no time like Spring.
